About Us

Churchill Events committee is responsible for organising events within Churchill. It is a registered charity, and all members work on a purely voluntary basis. Our main event is the Classic and Vintage Car Show, held every two years. For more information, follow the link below.

To The Car Show

Our Timeline

The Churchill Events Committee has been around for a number of years, organising events on behalf of the village. Perhaps the best know is the biennial car show, but there have been numerous other events over the years. Here is a selection.
  • 1988 - The Cavalcade

    A Cavalcade of Classic Cars

    A run around the locality, led by Tim Holloway on his motorcycle, and about 30 cars, raising money for the church restoration

  • 1990 - The First Proper Car Show

    The Start Of It All

    This was the start of the Events Committee as a separate entity

  • 1992 - Goldie Gardner's MG 135

    Land Speed Record Holder of 1952

    Star of the show this year was the 1952 world land speed record holder

  • 2010 - The Events Committee

    Members in 2010

    The committee has chnaged over the years as people move on. In addition to those members, there are huge number of people involved in running the events.

  • 2012 - Jubilee Celebrations

    Wine and dine on the Village Green

    Patriotic Colours and Fine Food and Wine

  • 201? - Elvis

    Has Left The Building

    The pre-show party has been a part of the entertainment. Elvis divided opinion!

  • 2017 - Dog Show

    The Dog Show

    The Dog Show, fantastically organised by Anne Batchelor, runs on the years when there is no car show.

  • 2018 - The Biggest Car Show Yet

    500 cars, 5000 visitors

    2018 saw our biggest car show to date.
